2020 Executive Board

Maryanne Stone PRESIDENT

Maryanne has worked on many transformative development projects. Her most recent overall project responsibility includes the completion of the 100,000 square foot, $62 million Washkewicz College of Engineering Building.

Maryanne started her career in the public sector for the City of Akron Planning Department. She applied her architecture skills on the design development of several public higher education facilities and public housing developments.

Expanding her career, Maryanne switched from working with design firms to joining construction companies.  As a Project Manager, she worked on significant new construction and renovation projects for local and federal government agencies throughout the east coast and the mid-west.  Most notable projects includes the home of the VPOTUS, Andrews Air Force Base and Arlington National Cemetery.

Maryanne Stone is a graduate of Kent State University’s School of Architecture and has a Masters in Project Management.  

Michele Crawford VICE PRESIDENT

Darell Nelson TREASURER

Darell’s love of gadgets, new technology, and willingness to learn has created a perfect fit with his desire to be an architect. His involvement in the community helps feed his hunger to take initiative in organizations such as National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), ACE Mentoring, and as a board member of the Cleveland Design Review Committee. Born and raised in Cleveland, he seeks to connect all communities in Northeast Ohio thru responsive design. 

Crystal Montgomery PARLIAMENTARIAN

After relocating back to native Cleveland, Ohio. Crystal Montgomery is  currently a Historic Preservation Specialist at the NASA Glenn  Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Before joining the NASA team, she worked with three different architectural firms in Cincinnati, Ohio  after graduating from the University of Cincinnati with an undergraduate Bachelors of Architecture degree and a certificate in  Historic Preservation. While in Cincinnati, she was a member of the  Cincinnati Preservation Association and volunteered in support of their  events. Upstairs Downstairs annual tour was the favorite. Also is a member of the American Institute of Architects and was an Associate  board member for two years that lead to creating a sub-committee,  IDP/ARE to focus on architectural registration for interns. Additionally, became a founding member of the Cleveland Chapter of the National  Organization of Minority Architects as the secretary.
